The measurement value transmitter involves detecting balls (11) drawing them into the measurement chamber via the ends (9a) of the vanes (9) of a rotating impeller (3) which provides the measurement values. A cleaning effect occurs as a result of the relative movement taking place between the outer surfaces of the ends of the vane (9) and those of the sponge balls.The supply and return lines (4) to and from the measuring chamber (2), respectively have the same cross section as the inner cross section of these lines in the connection region, so that no cross sectional reductions occur, at which the sponge balls can remain suspended.
