The device comprises a pelvis support (1), a shoulder support (2) and a head support (3). The pelvis support consists of a profile seat (4) which rests on a movable frame (5) with a height adjuster (6). At the back of the seat is a square section adjustable vertical arm at the upper end of which is an adjustable extending support arm (11), which extends forward at right angles to the vertical arm over the seat. At the forward end of this horizontal support arm is a vertically adjustable support bar which carries the rotatable yoke shaped shoulder support and the head support.The spine the patient is strapped into the apparatus and a first adjuster screw (40) is operated to allow rotation of the patient's shoulders to the left and the right. A needle on the frame is used to record the maximum angle of movement against a scale. The first adjuster screw is then returned to the zero position and a second adjuster screw (43) is operated to allow the head support to move with the head moving to a maximum position to the left and right and the angles being recorded on a scale.
