The fuel-filled chamber 63 bounded by a face 41 of the injector valve element 11, which is loaded by two springs (33, 49, Fig. 1) acting one after the other, has a throttled or valve controlled connection to the spring chamber 29. The connection between the chambers 63 and 29 is closed or the throttling becomes effective after a lift H1 when both springs become active.
