Catamaran with U=shaped hulls and V=shaped hydrofoils

The catamaran has fore and aft V-shaped hydrofoils arranged between hulls with U-shaped ribs. The hydrofoils do not have to remain in the water, and may instead plane over its surface, in order to reduce their drag.The hydrofoils may be arranged such that when planing, they produce a lifting force perpendicular to the direction of motion, in order to support a large part of the weight of the craft.
