<p>PURPOSE: To release formed goods from dies without damaging the formed goods and dies at a high temp. by press forming a glass blank using the dies obtd. by forming specific release layers on the forming surfaces. CONSTITUTION: The upper die 10 and the lower die 11 are set in a chamber 1 in which an N2 atmosphere is maintained. One or more kinds of the blanks selected from alkaline (earth) metals, their oxides and their fluorides having the shapes nearly approximate to the shapes of the forming surfaces of the dies are inserted by means of an attraction jig 15 between these dies 10 and 11. Next, the upper die 10 is lowered down near to the upper surface by a cylinder 6 via an upper shaft 7 and, thereafter, a heater is energized to heat a drum mold 12 and to form release element deposition layers on the forming surfaces of the upper die 10 and the lower die 11. Next, the glass blank 5 is transported by a glass holder 4 via a transporting shaft 3 into the chamber 1 and is preheated by a preheater 2 and, thereafter, the glass blank is placed on the lower die 11 and the drum mold 12 is heated. The glass blank is then press formed by lowering the upper die 10.</p> |
