PURPOSE: To enhance a shelf stability and a durability by a method wherein a thermal recording layer is formed of a material mainly composed of a leuco dye, a color developer, and a resin soluble in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, and an intermediate layer is formed of a resin layer formed by crosslinking a curable phosphazene compound by an ultraviolet radiation or an electron beam. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording medium formed by successively laminating a leuco dye, a thermal recording layer, an intermediate layer, and a protective layer on a substrate, the thermal recording layer contains a leuco dye and a color developer that are insoluble in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent and a resin soluble in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent as main components. The intermediate layer is formed of a resin layer formed by crosslinking a curable phosphazene compound by an ultraviolet radiation or the like. The protective layer mainly composed of an ultraviolet radiation-or electron beam-curing resin contains a pigment, a higher fatty acid or a metallic salt thereof, a hot melt lubricant, and one or more selected out of lubricants. The protective layer is cured to be formed by an ultraviolet radiation or an electron beam. A magnetic recording layer and a masking layer are provided between the substrate and the thermal recording layer, as required. |
