PURPOSE: To obtain a recording medium having excellent water resistance and character quality level by incorporating at least basic polyaluminum chloride and high-molecular weight substance having a molecular weight of specific value or more. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium contains at least basic polyaluminum chloride and high-molecular weight substance having a molecular weight of 2000 or more. The molecular weight of the substance is in a range of 2000 to 10000, and the substance is cation. The ratio of the polyaluminum chloride to the substance is (8:2)to (0.5:9.5) by weight or preferably(5:5)to (1:9). The polyaluminum chloride and the substance are impregnated or coated with basic material made of fibrous substance and filler, and the impregnating or coating amount is 0.01 to 3g/m<2> or preferably 0.1 to 1.5g/m<2> . The medium has a recording surface in which pigment exists, and a surface of the base material containing the fibrous substance and the filler and coated with coating solution containing the polyaluminum chloride, the substance and the pigment. |
