PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive device in which actuating operation and releasing operation of a step-on type parking brake can be easily carried out as well as a conventional forcibly releasing type one based on manual operation, a load applied to a pole or a ratchet is lowered, and no damper device is required. CONSTITUTION: When a release button 40 arranged in the vicinity of a driver seat is operated to be pushed down against energizing force of the first compressing coil spring 46, a release pin 50 is engaged with a pole 32 via the second compression coil spring 56, a connecting member 52, and an inner cable 54 and is pressed onto the pole 32 according to the energizing force of the compressed and deformed spring 56. When leg-power is applied to an operation pedal 16 under this condition and a gearing pressure between the pole 32 and a ratchet 28 is lowered below the predetermined value, the pole 32 is rotated clockwise against energizing force of a torsional coil spring 34, so that gearing between the pole 32 and the ratchet 28 is released, and then, the pedal is allowed to be returned to a home position. |
