PURPOSE: To always accurately correct the registration deviation even if the position for carrying a record sheet is different, and to obtain a preferable image without a color drift by correcting the positions of a plurality of images to be transferred at each recording medium carried to the position of a medium carrying conveyor based on the mean value of registration deviations. CONSTITUTION: The mean value of registration deviations calculated for areas of one record sheet is input from a registration deviation correction controller 19 to an image signal output controller 18, and the scanning timing of an image writer 2 is so controlled that a toner image is deviated in a suitable direction by a mean value at the position transferred on a transfer belt 8. Thus, the toner images of the respective colors can be so transferred as to be snugly superposed even on the record sheet of any position on the belt 8. As a result, preferable image can be stably obtained without color drift. |
