MANUFACTURE OF COATED HARD METAL CUTTING TOOL

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a tool improved in the tenacity and wear resistance of a coated cutting tool as a result of effectively relieving thermal stress generated to a film such as the separation, rupture and crack generation of the film. CONSTITUTION: A single or multiple hard coating layer with the presence of one TiC layer and/or TiCN layer is coated on the surface of hard metal and then held 10 a temperature range of 900-1300 deg.C in vacuum or in inert gas of hydrogen partial pressure 10<-3> or less so as to reduce the hydrogen content of the TiC/TiCN film from that immediately after coating treatment to manufacture a coated hard metal cutting tool.
