<p>PURPOSE: To make a filter coarse in mesh size, provide a space in slip stream, let particulates having passe through each mesh be turned out large particles formed through aggregation caused by electrification, let the aforesaid large particles be arrested by the following filter, and let nitrogen oxide be reduced with the filter member processed by aluminum. CONSTITUTION: A through D filters 21 through 24 which have coarse meshes while being covered with alumina, are coaxially disposed while each space is provided for the filters, let exhaust gas flows in an inlet flow path 11, and concurrently a slip stream filter 14 made of porous ceramics combined with alumina is provided for a space between a center section and an outlet flow path. When a filtration action is performed by filter elements, NO2 in exhaust gas is reduced with fuel fed, and when a regeneration action is performed by each filter, the oxidation of carbon monoxide is accelerated with air fed. Besides, a filter made out of woven material or non-woven material can be disposed in a space between the filters.</p> |
