The present invention refers to an electrohydraulic engine for the propulsion of a vehicle, said engine comprising: means (5, 5') for providing electrical energy, such as a car battery; first conversion means for converting said electrical energy into hydraulic pressure comprising: electromagnetic means (1, 1'), preferably of solenoid type, for converting said electrical energy into a preferably alternately direct magnetic field; and a hydraulic pump (2, 3), such as a piston pump, having a movable part (2) and a fixed part (3), said movable part at least partly being made of a material being actuatable by said magnetic field, and being brought into reciprocal movement by said preferably alternately directed magnetic field in response thereto, said movement providing said hydraulic pressure by causing a hydraulic medium to be alternately supplied into and forced out from the hydraulic pump (2, 3), and second conversion means (4) for converting said hydraulic pressure into mechanical rotational movement for propulsion of the vehicle. |
