PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal transfer recording material having ideal transfer properties and a heat resistance to a high temperature and forming a printing image improved in resistance to solvent and resistance to scratching. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal transfer recording material provided with a hot melt ink layer composed of a vehicle and a pigment on a substrate, 85wt.% or more of the vehicle is made of an epoxy resin containing 50wt.%, or more cresol novolak polyglycidyl ether and/or its bromide.
