PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording body superior in recording image quality and water resistance of a recording layer by a method wherein in the thermal recording body provided with the recording layer on a substrate, a water- dispersible adhesive is incorporated as an adhesive, and a rhamxan gum is incorporated as a water-soluble polymer compound. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording body provided with a recording layer mainly composed of a color-forming dye, such as a leuco dye, a color developer, such as a phenol compound, and an adhesive on a sheet-form substrate made of paper, synthetic paper, a plastic film, or the like, a water-dispersible adhesive is incorporated as an adhesive, and a rhamxan gum is incorporated as a water- soluble polymer compound. The rhamxan gum is made of a polysaccharide prepared by binding a side chain of D-glucose dimer to a main chain of D- glucose, L-rhamnose, and D-glucuronic acid. The combination use of the rhamxan gum and the water-dispersible adhesive in the coating liquid of the recording layer in this manner ensures a uniform coated surface and a superior recording image quality. |
