PURPOSE: To obtain a long staple-reinforced resin structure comprising a styrene- acrylonitrile copolymer added with a fibrous reinforcing material and a rubber modified styrene copolymer, having excellent physical properties and easily fed to a molding machine owing to nice pellet performances. CONSTITUTION: This long staple-reinforced resin structure comprises (A) a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer added with (B) 5-80wt.%, preferably 20-70wt.%, specifically and preferably 30-65wt.%, fibrous reinforcing material (e.g.; glass fiber, carbon fiber, metal fiber, etc.) based on the total components and (C) 0.05-20wt.%, preferably 0.2-10wt.% rubber modified styrene copolymer (e.g.; an ethylene-propylene copolymer, polybutadiene, etc.) based on the total components and is 3mm long. The component B substantially has the same length as that of the resin structure and is essentially arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction. The structure can preferably have a pelletlike shape having 3-10mm length. Molded products in which the component B disperses with >=1mm weight average fiber length can be obtained by molding the resin structure. |
