PURPOSE: To eliminate the inconvenience such as fiber bundle cut, etc., and to improve the impregnancy by varying the height of the bent crest or trough of a passage in a crosshead die. CONSTITUTION: The inlet 402 and the outlet 403 of a passage 400 are disposed in the same planar surface X of a crosshead die 4, and the zigzag unit length of the crests and the troughs formed in the zigzag manner in both front and rear surface direction of the planar surface is constant. The height h1 of the bent crest 404 first in contact with the continuous fiber bundle from the surface X is higher than the height h6 of the bent trough 409 last in contact with the continuous fiber bundle from the surface X, and the heights h2 , h3 , h4 , h5 of the adjacent crests or troughs on the way of the both are set the same as the height of the front or rear crest or trough thereof or low toward the outlet 403. Accordingly, the tension received by the bent crest or trough of the bundle 1 is maximum at the initial crest 404, and minimum at the last trough 409. Therefore, the opening and the impregnation of the bundle 1 passing through the die 4 are effectively conducted. |
