PURPOSE: To make a malti-gradation high quality color image free from a sticking phenomenon formable on an image receiving layer to which an ink layer is transferred, by a method wherein at least one layer out of the image-receiving layers on a substrate is transferred to a permanent substrate and polyvinyl butyral and a specific polymeric compound are contained in the image-receiving layer. CONSTITUTION: In an image-receiving sheet material to be used for formation of a transfer image to be retransferred on a permanent substrate after heat transfer of an ink layer onto an image-receiving sheet material from a transfer material, at least two layers of the image receiving layers are provided on the substrate. Then one layer out of the layers is transferred to the permanent substrate, the image receiving layer to which the ink layer is transferred is formed of a matter containing polyvinyl butyral resin and a polymeric compound of repeating unit of at least formula I and/or a formula II. In the formula, R1 indicates a hydrogen atom and methyl group, A indicates a substituting group possessing an amide bond and a nitrogen-containing hetero-cyclic compound, R4 indicates a hydrogen atom and methyl group, R6 -R8 indicate alkyl group, aralkyl group and aryl group and X indicates Cl or Br or I. |
