PURPOSE: To improve the creep strength of a titanium alloy in a wide temp. range by incorporating a trace amt. of hydrogen into anα+βtype Near-αtype titanium alloy. CONSTITUTION: This titanium alloy has a structure contg., by weight, 4.0 to 7.0% Al, 0 to 0.6% Sn, 0 to 0.6% Zr, 0 to 0.8% W, 0 to <0.8% Si, 0 to 0.10% C, 0 to 1.0% Hf, 0 to 1.5% Nb, 0 to 2.5% Ta, 0 to 1.0% W, 0 to 1.0% Cu, 0 to 5.0% V, 0.0050 to 0.0500% H, and the balance Ti with inevitable impurities. At the time of refining this alloy, a melting raw material is mixed with TiH2 powder as well as the alloy elements of form an electrode, and by using this electrode, consumable electrode type vacuum arc double melting is executed, or, the method in which the alloy elements excluding H is used to form an electrode, which is subjected to consumable electrode type vacuum arc double melting, and the obtd. ingot is subjected to hot forging and is subjected to solution treatment in a vacuum atmosphere in coexistence with TiH2 powder may be adopted.
