Determining position of object relative to reference point

The position determination is for an object such as a helicopter which is located at a point (M) and has an array of equally spaced circular optical captors on it's surface which are linked to processors and a calculator. A laser source (4) is located at the reference point (P).The laser source (4) which is mounted on a rotating platform (3) and supplied by a signal generator (6) produces a beam (5) of linearly varying frequency. The beam rotates in the horizontal plane and has a linearly varying angle of elevation due to a rotating mirror (8).
