FIELD: radio engineering; railway and automobile transport, industrial conveying and hoisting facilities. SUBSTANCE: method uses remote-polling probing of vehicle from polling center and encoded response with an aid of responder-marker (coder) mounted on vehicle. According to invention, for polling use is made of infra-red location of running vehicle carrying code-perforated contour image- marker (coder); to this end, vehicle is irradiated by continuous light and infra-red radiation from marker items is received by polling center; continuous infra-red rays reflected from moving vehicle are converted into series of marker code modulated infra-red pulses which are then converted into series of electric pulses wherefrom code information is separated (demodulated). According to invention, resolution angle &thetas; during reception of single reflection item or skip 1, distance from polling center R, and angle v of read-out direction from line of movement are interrelated by the following equation: q ≅ l•R•sinΦ. EFFECT: simplified design and reduced cost of information read-out equipment; improved operating reliability due to improved immunity to unfavorable factors (weather conditions, ice formation, oil splashing, etc). 2 cl, 5 dwg |
