To anchor a moulded plastics shrouding round a cable (1), nippers are used to distort the cable structure into spread strand bumps (2). They are spread out by about six times the dia. of the cable. The plastics shrouding (3) is secured by the bumps (2), to prevent loosening or detachment by traction, rotation, or a combined traction/rotation force.
