Programmable electrical switch for control of industrial mfg. runs and microchip data processors

The programmable switch includes several electrical connections together with at least one manually controllable switching unit (4, 6). At least some of the connections serve both as output contacts for output signals controlled or generated by the switching unit, and as the programming inputs for an integral programmable circuit which determines the structure and/or type of the output signals. Some of the connections to the switch can be connected to an input/output unit, or the input/output side of an integral microprocessor, and are then switched from the control inputs on the switching unit. The switch selector shaft is rotatable and is magnetically-operated.
