Brush to apply mascara to the eyelashes consists of a central core represented by a twisted metal wire in which a spiral of bristles is arranged in a regular arrangement. The bristles have a dia. of 0.1-0.25 mm (0.17 mm) and each turn includes 10 to 40 (15) bristles. The wire of the core has a dia. of 0.45-0.75 mm and the pitch of the helix should be 1-3 mm. The bristles at the end are more dense, e.g. up to 50 over 3-5 turns to make up the lower eyelashes.The preferred material for the bristles is nylon 66 or nylon 610
