<p>A method and apparatus is provided for forming a cap with a pouring spout for a container. A continuous web (112) is fed to a spout inserting apparatus (300) which inserts a spout (312) directly into the continuous web. The continuous web may thereafter proceed to a label applicator (500) which applies a label (510) to the continuous web over the spout. Thereafter, the continuous web is moved past a dye and press (700) wherein the cap is punched out of the continuous web and the edge is folded to form a cap (710). Thereafter, the caps are collected, oriented and directed to a point for subsequent use (900).</p> |
