<p>A spiral-wound filtration cartridge (1), which renders the need for brine seals unnecessary, is disclosed. The spiral cartridges (1) of the invention comprise a spirally-wound inner filtration assembly (2) having an impermeable outer cylindrical surface (5), a housing (9) having a cylindrical cavity formed therein for receiving the inner filtration assembly (2), and at least one continuous longitudinally-oriented fluid pathway (6) disposed between the inner filtration assembly (2) and the housing (9), the fluid pathway (6) allowing for a portion of a fluid entering one end of the filtration cartridge (1) to bypass the inner filtration assembly (2) and proceed to the other end of the filtration cartridge (1).</p> |
