<p>A combination of an umbrella (1) and a golf ball retriever (8) comprising a tubular umbrella shaft (2) having a shade (3) which is mounted at one end of the shaft (2), and a golf ball retriever (8) housed in the umbrella shaft and consisting of a number of telescopically arranged tube members (9, 10, 11) having successively decreasing diameters and a golf ball gripping means (12) arranged at the free end of the tube member (11) having the smallest diameter. The golf ball retriever (8) constitutes a separate unit which is arranged to be, respectively, inserted into and removed in its entirety from the umbrella shaft (2) through the other open end thereof remote from the shade (3), a handle member (13) constituting at least a part of an umbrella handle when the ball retriever is inserted into the umbrella shaft (2), being arranged at the free end of the tube member (9) of the ball retriever having the largest diameter.</p> |
