The theft protection arrangement contains a triggering device which is activated by improper handling of the machine and causes the goods (5) in the machine to be rendered unusable, destroyed and/or at least damaged. An fuse chord system inside the machine has one or more fuse chords (15) laid close to the products to be protected. If the machine is subjected to improper handling, automatically triggered sensors, triggers and/or igniters (21) are used to ignite the fuse chord or chords at at least one position. Individual chambers or columns of a vending machine can contain fuse chords so that each article is in contact with or close to a section of fuse chord.
