Upper arm support for crutch

The upper arm socket-type support (11) is applied from behind to inside and outside of the arm, can slide over the clothing and is resiliently (13) carried in an adjustably positionable joint (14). The upper arm, as continued to the ground by means of the arthritis crutch, offers an abutment for the forearm axis in the forearm shell where it serves as the axis of any instability, i.e. bending etc. When the crutch is lifted off the ground, the support enables the crutch to be positioned more accurately without undue pressure on the handle. The socket support assembly has first to be secured to the shell tube (10) of the crutch so the socket lies opposite the vertical handle and can be adjusted to suit user in situ. The socket support bears resiliently on the upper arm throughout all movement of the crutch during walking and its associated articulation of the elbow joint.
