<p>In its bow, a ship is provided with an opening (11) in the hull (10) of the ship, which may be closed by means of a bow door (12). In order to reduce the risk of damages caused by outer forces applied on the door (12), there is provided a safety arrangement comprising an elongate member (13) which is arranged at the outer side of the hull (10) and which has a curved shape adapted to the outer shape of the door (12), said elongate member being movably mounted in such a manner in fixed portions of the hull (10), located on opposite sides of said opening (11), so as to permit a movement of said member between a first lifted position (A), in which, when the door (12) is closed, it extends substantially laterally along a selected portion of the door (12) and rests against the door to hold the door (12) in its closed position, and a second lowered position (D), in which it uncovers the door (12) and permits an unhindered opening of the door.</p> |
