Anti-theft protection for motor vehicle

The vehicle security system is primed and released by a coded signal from a hand held transmitter e.g. built into the vehicle key. A simple improvement of the security of the vehicle is obtained by having the receiver (1) as a removable item which the driver can take with him when leaving the vehicle, and is connected to functional units such as a central locking device, door lock, brake latch, alarm suppressor or immobiliser. The receiver has a plug in fitting into the vehicle and is not easily bridged when removed from the vehicle. Without its built in codes the vehicle circuits cannot be operated leaving the vehicle immobilised. The receiver is small enough to be carried in a pocket.
