<p>A device for protection of hay bales comprise a cover (10) adapted to substantially cover an upper surface of the hay bale along with means for spacing the cover (10) from the upper surface, and vent means (50, 52) to permit the egress of air from the space between the upper surface and the cover (10) and to prevent the ingress of a moisture therethrough. There is also disclosed a method for protecting hay bales during the drying thereof using the device; the device permits the bales of hay and particularly cylindrical bales to dry at a controlled temperature to prevent damage to the hay bales.</p> |
