<p>A frequency synthesizer (10) having a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) (40) and a feedback system which detects the deviation of a frequency modulated signal and aligns the detected deviation. DAC (40) provides a presteering stimulus for alignment purposes. After presteering alignment, the gain of DAC (40) is accurately set for frequency deviation because modulation is sourced from the same digital-to-analog converter that performs presteering.</p> |
