PURPOSE: To provide a document preparation support device which can determine the document layout of document constituent elements such as main text body and graphical elements of charts, tables, graphs, images, etc., the color attributes of the document elements in a document on the basis of document preparation knowledge. CONSTITUTION: This document preparation support device is equipped with a document generation knowledge holding means 13 which holds the document preparation knowledge, an inter-knowledge distance holding means 12 which holds distance information showing the degree of imbalance when the document preparation knowledge held in the document generation knowledge holding means 13 is used, a retrieval request input means 11 which inputs a retrieval request regarding the retrieval of the knowledge, and a document preparation knowledge determining means 14 which determines a group of document preparation knowledge applied to the document on the basis of the retrieval request and the inter-knowledge distance information. |
