<p>PURPOSE: To prevent an end part of paper on a binding side from slipping off during driving of a staple in the stapler in which the staple is driven upward from the lower part of the bound documents for performing book binding. CONSTITUTION: When sheets of paper are piled on an intermediate tray 20 and book binding is carried out by means of a stapler 40, end parts of the sheets of paper piled on the intermediate tray 20 are nipped between a driving roller member 6 in a conveying roller device and a pinch roller member 10 so as to be fixedly held. Subsequently, the intermediate tray 20 is oscillated via a journalling part 21, and the tip parts of the paper P are brought into contact with an upper guide plate 45 in a clincher member 41, while the stitcher member 42 is lifted, and then, a staple is driven upward, and consequently, binding is carried out. Oscillation of the pinch roller member 10 and oscillation of the intermediate tray 20 are operated by means of a single driving source by using a cam member.</p> |
