PURPOSE: To prevent drop in conductivity and capacity to lengthen life by pressing alloy paste having ferromagnetism to a conductive core containing a magnetic material converted into a permanent magnet, and attracting the alloy paste by magnetic force of the conductive core. CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen storage alloy powder obtained by crushing a LaNi5 alloy so as to have a mean particle size of about 50μm is nickel plated, the powder is mixed with a polyethylene oxide aqueous solution in a weight ratio of 1: 0.05. Alloy paste 14 obtained is applied and pressed to a conductive core 11 prepared by bonding a current collector 13 onto both sides of a ferrite magnet plate 12, dried, and pressed to prepare a hydrogen storage alloy electrode 1. The magnet plate 12 has a thickness of 1mm and one surface is N pole and the other surface is S pole, and the current collector 13 is made of punched metal with a 0.08mm nickel thin film. The paste 14 is attracted by magnetic force of the core 11 to make separation difficult, and drop in conductivity and capacity of an electrode 1 is prevented, life is lengthened. |
