PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more advanced form of picture generation through the interpretation of a program defined in a graphical programming language. SOLUTION: A program defined in a graphical programming language is interpreted in such a way that a description train containing the combination or plotting of graphic elements is analyzed and executed. During the execution, the effect of the combination or plotting is delayed. Then the combination or expression of the graphic elements is converted into the node of an expression tree 67. The descendant of each node is the operand of the combination or plotting of delayed graphic elements and a node 69 is marked so that the node 69 can be marked with a boundary stored on a clipping list 70.
