INFORMATION ACCESS METHOD IN DATABASE WAREHOUSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data warehouse having a flexible and stable user interface. SOLUTION: A warehouse data-base hub interface through which data provide a user with a logical schema on data bases arranged on a fact table and reference table is provided. The schema is constituted of a virtual table and the data arrangement on the virtual table is different from the physical arrangement of the data bases. The user creates an inquiry statement by supposing the virtual table as an actual data table. The interface sends the inquiry from the user to a data base warehouse for data base retrieval after correcting the inquiry so that the inquiry can become suitable for the physical arrangement of the data bases. After receiving retrieved results, the interface summarizes and sums the results to meet the requirement of the user and gives the final result to the user as an answer.
