PURPOSE: To obtain a variable reluctance motor comprising a stator provided with a plurality of pole teeth and a plurality of winding, and a rotor provided with a plurality of teeth which can face the pole teeth of the stator, in which the size is reduced by employing shunt windings connected in star. CONSTITUTION: The VR(Variable Reluctance) motor 1 comprises a stator 11 provided with six pole teeth 12 and three windings 13U, 13V, 13W, and a rotor 15 provided with four teeth 16 which can face the pole teeth 12 of the stator 11. Each winding 13U, 13V, 13W is a shunt winding wound to pass the slot 14a-f on the right in the circumferential direction with respect to a pair of pole teeth 12 facing each other through the rotor 15 while reversing the passing direction alternately and connected in star. Only one phase winding 13U-W passes through each slot 14 and since the amount of winding is reduced, sufficient number of windings 13U-W can be passed even if the cross-sectional area of the slot 14 is small. This structure realizes reduction in size of the VR motor. |
