<p>PURPOSE: To provide a safety device of a keyboard lid applicable even to a keyboard lid freely turnably supported by a hinge, like the keyboard lid of an upright piano. CONSTITUTION: This safety device 10 is provided with a hole part 12c at the end face 12b on the base end 12a side of the keyboard lid 12. A flexible tube 14 fixed to a deep roof 13 is inserted into this hole part 12c. The hole part 12c is provided with a compression coil spring 16 deep therein. An aperture 12d exists lower than the turning central part 18a of a hinge 18 and, therefore, the tube 14 slips out of the hole part 12c when the keyboard lid 12 is opened. The tube 14 enters the hole part 12c and the coil spring 16 comes into contact with the front end of the tube 14 before the keyboard lid 12 turns from the full open position to the full close position when the keyboard lid 12 is closed and, therefore, repulsive force is generated in the coil spring 16 and the tube 14 receives the force in the direction where the tube is pushed out of the hole part 12c. Since the turning speed of the keyboard lid 12 is regulated in such a manner, there is no possibility of pinching the fingers by the keyboard lid 12 and the consequent injury thereof.</p> |
