<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an abrasive grain composition capable of improving the balance between grinding speed and surface quality by changing the composition of abrasive grains. CONSTITUTION: This abrasive grain composition is obtained by mixing a general- purpose fine granular abrasive grain with a platy alumina single crystal powder. In this case, the general-purpose fine granular abrasive grain is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of a mixture of brown fused alumina with zircon, the brown fused alumina, white fused alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, garnet, emery and quartz sand and the average grain diameter of the general-purpose fine granular abrasive grain is preferably within the range of 3.0-40.0μm. The average grain diameter of the platy alumina single crystal powder is preferably within the range of 1.0-3.0 times that of the general- purpose fine granular abrasive grain. Furthermore, the amount of the mixed plary alumina single crystal powder is preferably within the range of 1-10wt.% based on the general-purpose fine granular abrasive grain.</p> |
