PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of a printing head and a printing mechanism cleaning an ink jet printing head not only to increase the throughput of the printing mechanism but also to keep high printing quality. SOLUTION: A method for cleaning ink jet printing heads 34, 36 used in an ink jet printing mechanism 20 includes a step for ejecting ink from the selected nozzles of the printing heads 34, 36 to bond ink liquid droplets on a printing medium page 78 to print a selected image 80 and a step bonding ejected cleaning ink liquid droplets to the page 78 to clean the selected nozzles.
