PURPOSE: To carry out application to a rolled paper printer without changing any means for paper feeding selection instruction in emulation and to reduce development costs by providing a logic paper feeding port, generating unit and a logic paper feeding port selecting unit for complying with the rolled paper in a system progra unit. CONSTITUTION: A printer device is provided with a printer engine unit 1 and a printer controller 3, and a system program unit 17 in a software unit 5 in the print controller 3 consists of a logic paper feeding port, generating unit 23 and a logic paper feeding port selecting unit 25. By means of the logic paper feed port, generating unit 23, a virtual table for a logic paper feeding port, is generated for every paper size which the first and the second rolled paper with the first and the second roll width may take. By means of the logic paper feeding port selecting unit 25, a logic paper feeding port complying with the paper feeding ID instructed from an emulation unit is selected on the basis of information from the logic paper feeding port table, and then, actual rolled paper is selected for a rolled paper feeding mechanism 21. |
