PURPOSE: To prevent crushed rice, and improve boiling finish quality by supplying rice of a rice storage tank to a rice washing tank in a discharge valve closed condition while weighing it by a volume regulating unit, generating vortex water by supplying water from a water blowout means, and washing the rice by the vortex water. CONSTITUTION: Rice of a rice storage tank 2 is weighed by a volume regulating unit 8, and is supplied to a rice washing tank 4. Then, in a condition where a rice discharge port 8 is closed by a rice discharge valve 9, high pressure jet water is supplied in the circumferential direction along an inner wall of the tank 4 toward the rice discharge port 8 from an upper part of the rice washing tank 4 by a water bnlowout means 20. Therefore, vortex water Q is generated, and weighed rice is washed by the vortex water Q. Impurity such as rice bran removed by rice washing is discharged outside of a machine from a drain system 33. After a rice washing process is finished, a water quantity is set by a float 30 or the like. After a soaking process is passed, the rice discharge valve 9 is opened, and the washed rice is inputted to a rice cooker 12, and the process transfers to a rick cooking process.
