A sorption cooler for a coolbox has a heatable sorption part filled with a material that absorbs fluid at normal temps. and releases it when heated. It comprises a vertical cylinder with a hollow axis 1 but the remainder of the cylinder is sealed, its inside being connected to an evaporator by a pipe 7. Aligned with the central opening of the cylinder is a heater 12. The cylinder is surrounded on its side and base with thermal insulation 2 such as glass fibre. The central opening is double-walled and filled with fluid such as water or toluene. The double wall has a constriction at each end where the two walls join. The walls are made of high quality steel. |
