PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for document processing which can arrange an area wherein a character is inhibited from being arranged at an optional position in a frame area by providing the frame area in a page of a document. CONSTITUTION: The arrangement position of a character is found on the basis of a format (S702), frame information with top priority is read out (S703), and the arrangement inhibited area of document data is found by referring to the frame information table. And it is judged whether or not the position of the character corresponds to the arrangement inhibited area (S705) and when so, the character is arranged not in the area (S706). This inhibited area can be set inside or outside a frame. |
