PURPOSE: To connect a back connection end of a preceding strip material and a forward connection end of a succeeding strip material effectively and safely at a high workability, and obtain a constant high quality connection part. CONSTITUTION: A heater 70 is disposed between a back connection end 1a of a preceding strip material 1A and a forward connection end 1b of a succeeding strip material 1B. The connection ends 1a, 1b of the forward and back strip materials 1A, 1B are pressed to the heater 70 to fuse the connection ends 1a, 1b of the strip materials 1A, 1B, and after the forward and back strip materials 1A, 1B are removed from the heater 70, the heater 70 is retracted from the forward and back strip materials 1A, 1B, when the connection ends 1a, 1b of the forward and back strip materials 1A, 1B are pressed to each other to be connected to each other. In thus connecting the forward and back strip materials 1A, 1B to each other, the connection ends 1a, 1b are held by a connection part lower support flat plate 18 and a connection part presser plate 74 on the upper and lower side. |
