Described is an electric-toothbrush head (1) with a support tube (2) in which is mounted a shaft (7) running along the longitudinal axis (3) of the tube. Two bristle carriers (14, 15) are mounted to rotate about particular axes (24, 25). The invention also calls for means, in particular two piston rods (30, 31), to link the shaft (7) to the two bristle carriers (14, 15) in such a way that movement (36) of the shaft (7) causes a rotational motion (37, 38) of the two bristle carriers (14, 15) about the two bristle-carrier axes (24, 25). The bristle-carrier axes (24, 25) are located in a plane disposed approximately at right angles to the longitudinal axis (3) of the tube, with an angle of approximately 90 DEG between them. The motion of the shaft can be either a rotary motion about the longitudinal axis (3) or a longitudinal motion along the longitudinal axis (3). In addition, the bristle carriers (14, 15) can be mounted on arms (60, 61) so that they can pivot, in particular about the longitudinal axis (3).
