<p>A floating magnetic head comprises a head core (1) including core halves (1A and 1B) having magnetic films (14) and joined with a gap spacer (41) in between, and a dummy plate (3) stuck to one side face of the head core (1) parallel to the magnetic films (14). The assembly of the core (1) and dummy plate (3) is attached, at its end perpendicular to the magnetic films (14), to a housing (2). Since the core halves (1A and 1B) composed of C- or I-cores do not protrude from the magnetic head (5), the floating of the magnetic head (5) is not affected and, therefore, it is not required to form the housing (2) or an ABS surface (4) in a special shape.</p> |
