The double pH measurement cell (10) has two pH measurement electrodes (32,34), the zero point of the second electrode differing by at least one pH unit from that of the first, and the electrode compartments being housed in a tube (12) which also accommodates in a separate compartment the diaphragm (41) for a reference electrode (36). The electrode compartments (24,28,30) are arranged concentrically in the tube with the reference electrode in the outer compartment (30). The external diameter can range from 8 to 16 mm, e.g. 12 mm, and the tube can be of glass.
