Hydraulic skid-control braking system for motor vehicle with ASR

The hydraulic brake circuit has an isolating valve (5) between the master brake cylinder (1) and the wheel brakes and with separate isolating and venting valves for each brake system. A self priming pump (17) provides a return flow to activate the braking sequence. A proportional control valve (20) links the input side of the pump with the master brake cylinder, upstream of the isolating valve. The proportional valve is normally in the closed position, with the closing force provided by a combination of the pressure in the main brake line and an integral return spring (27). The solenoid valve is controlled by a brake control circuit.
